A valet is in its traditional form, a man who helped another male principal to dress, performing personal duties for them in their private quarters such as bringing them breakfast or managing their wardrobes. The modern valet will often combine their skills with other duties such as butlering, housekeeping or PA. A traditional and long-standing career choice, this is a specialist role.
