Life can be hectic. Work can definitely be hectic. In fact, typically many people find themselves wishing they had more hours in the day to undertake tasks which need to be done. They might not always be vital business tasks such as closing a big deal for a client, but they might be important in other aspects of your busy life.

For example, sending the birthday card to your mother-in-law or ensuring your latest set of invoices are posted to your accountant. Whatever the tasks are, if you find yourself needing more hours in the day to undertake these duties, you are probably in need of a personal assistant.

But what does a personal assistant do? And like many others, are you asking yourself – “do I need a personal assistant?’ If so, read on.

There are multiple types of personal assistants and executive assistants. A personal assistant can work full time, part time, or on demand/ad-hoc. They can work in your home/office or work remotely. Even a combination of both. They can assist you with business-related matters or domestic/private home matters. It really depends on where you need the help and support.

The Added Benefits of Hiring a Personal Assistant

More time to focus on the tasks that need your attention – This doesn’t necessarily mean work, it could mean spending time with your family or simply reading your favourite book. Having the time to unwind and relax is just as valuable as the time needed to focus on your business.

Multiple hands for bigger projects – This can seem like a simple fix, but by having an extra pair of hands (and an extra mind), you’ll be able to complete more complex tasks quicker.

Higher productivity – This is always an offshoot of having additional support. If the mind isn’t filled with the ‘to do list’, it means that tasks being completed will be focused and executed with more efficiency.

More time for your family or doing the things you love – Perhaps you love to run or practice yoga, or perhaps walking your dog fills you with joy, by having more time to focus on the things that feed your soul, your business and private life will bloom.

You made a great point when you said that having a personal assistant should really help in increasing your productivity. It should help trim down the excess things you need to do that are unrelated to your job and help you succeed better in your career. My husband just got a promotion at work and because of this, he got much more duties than he had before. With all the other tasks he has to do at home and the like it’s become a sort of juggling act that is difficult to manage. I’ll suggest that he hire a personal assistant as it would really free up a lot of his time and make it more likely for him to advance in his career even further.
