Housekeeper Training
The difference between a Housekeeper and a Cleaner is significant. To understand the difference, a trainee-housekeeper will undergo either years of on the job training, or look to continue their education by enrolling on skills specific courses. The skills taught to a Housekeeper will include a huge array of detail, from the technical understanding of the tools, products and equipment they use through to etiquette and advanced knowledge of garment care.
In our intensive Housekeeping training course, we take each course participant through a range of detailed modules. Here we give you complete access to Module 1 & 2 of the Housekeeping training.
Module 1 – Tools
The tools of the trade will make or break a Housekeeper. Using the right tools will allow for efficient and productive work, allowing better time management and results. These include a deeper understanding of:
- Manual Equipment
- Electrical Equipment
- Chemical Agents
Module 2 – Housekeeping Techniques
In this module we introduce fundamental Housekeeping techniques. In later modules we go into these skills in more detail, but it is important that a Housekeeper understands the theory behind the practice to give a deeper practice to the work. These techniques include:
- Dusting
- Hoovering/Vacuum
- Mopping
- Ironing/Pressing/Steaming
- Polishing
- Scrubbing
- Sweeping
