Do you now the tools every gardener needs to work well? Having good quality tools is extremely important to make sure that the work your gardener needs to do is done well and efficiently. Not having the right tools can really slow work down. If something can be done with the help of a piece of equipment, in gardening it is definitely worth it. Gardening is a very labour-intensive job. Which requires lots of heavy manual labour which can be testing on even the fittest body. So making sure you have these tools every gardener needs, can make a big difference.

Shovel

Every gardener needs a good shovel – probably a couple! Make sure the shovel you get is sturdy and can take a heavy job. Nothing worse than a flimsy plastic shovel that will give way after only a couple of usages!

Rake

Absolutely essential in autumn – but you will find your gardener will use this all year round. If you have trees in your garden you will find this to be the must-have tool to stay on top of fallen leaves. But also very handy to sort out cut grass, levelling and breaking up heavy soil too.

Land Mower

Even a small patch of grass needs a land mower. It really is an essential gardening tool. Whether you have acres of fields or just a small section in your garden. There are many different types of land mowers. The bigger the grass area, the more it will be worth it investing in electrical, bigger land mowers. They last a long time and will make this intense job a lot more doable.

Gloves

You want to make sure you have several of these. Some gloves will be better for planting and working with soil. Some will be more suited for heavy-duty and lifting work. Always have a couple of sets of spare gloves and make sure they re durable. Whether you are working in summer or winter, gloves are your main go-to tool of the gardening trade.

Sheers

Sheers are needed if you ever will be working with hedges and longer types of grass. A great tool to have for much-needed pruning and maintenance all year round. Make sure you store these well and do not leave them wet, as they can rust quickly. If they do, make sure you clean them in the correct way to maintain them well.

Pruners / Secateurs

These are the small but mighty tools any gardener needs to have to hand at all time during work. These hand-held tools are perfect for cutting and pruning all sorts of plants, bushes, shrubs and branches. Just like your sheers, make sure you take care of storage as you do not want these to get rusty too. Make sure to keep them sharp too as that will save you a lot of time!
