Questions Domestic Staff ForumTransition from House Manager to Butler
Shaun Taylor asked 8 years ago

I’ve worked for over 10 years as a house manager for mainly Russian clients. More and more of my clients expect me to have Butler skills, but I don’t have any formal training or qualifications. Is it worth taking courses, or is there any advice you can give me to transition into a new position which is more focused on being a Butler rather than being a house manager?

Hi Shaun, Continuing education is always a great idea to expand your skills and show prospective clients that you have the qualifications that they are looking for.  It is worth enrolling on courses that might suit your needs, and then you can simply attach any certificates to your CV/resume and job applications.  There are lots of training providers out there, so do your research and find what suits you best.  Good luck with your training!
