How P&T classify our SEN Nannies - Salary Guidelines

The below Salary Guidelines are based on an average 40 hour week and do not take into account live in or live out options.  The salary is always variable depending on overall package offered.

Due to the highly specific nature of this role, Polo & Tweed do not work with entry-level candidates.

Mid-level SEN Nanny is a candidate 4-8 years experience.  

Expect a salary of £1,057 – £1,442 gross per week.

Yearly salary from £55,000 gross to £75,000 gross per year.

 

High-level SEN Nanny is a candidate with 8+ years experience.  

Expect a salary of £1,461 gross per week.

Yearly salary from £76,000 gross upwards.

What you need to consider in a SEN nanny

Experience

Most of our SEN Nannies will have worked with multiple families with multiple children and backgrounds.  If your child has a specific requirement, it is always important to match a candidate whom has the specific experience and training in this area.  Don’t be afraid to ask challenging questions at interview stage to ensure that you are confident with the special needs nannies skills in this area.

Accommodation

Some families require their SEN nanny to live in, and other require them to live out.  Some families may require two or more nannies should they require round the clock care.  This is something to consider when looking to recruit a nanny – what level of support do you require and do you need more than one nanny?  If the nanny is living in, or staying overnight, can you provide them suitable accommodation?
